Essential Duties:
- Responsible for acting as a behavioral and emotional model and mentor.
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of the clients at all times.
- Responsible for assisting with the admission and discharge process when needed.
- Prioritization of the needs of the clients.
- Provides medical care within the scope of LVN practice.
- Able to deal effectively with families, clients and community.
- Timely response to clients suggestions and concerns.
- Responsible for taking vitals, CIWA & COWS and documenting in the electronic health record
- Responsible for monitoring the health and status of each client, specifically during detox, to determine whether the health status may warrant emergency medical care
- Responsible to assist with communicating with outside healthcare providers, consultants and pharmacies or labs
- Responsible for Medication Observation as per the Medication policies and procedures
- Responsible for ensuring accurate electronic documentation of Medication Observation as well as other pertinent information (i.e. Medical, behavioral observations)
- Responsible for acting in accord with CPR and First Aid Training in the event of a medical emergency, including following all NDFW protocols
- Responsible for adhering to all infection control precaution guidelines
- Must have face-to-face contact with any new clients within 24 hours of being admitted to NDFW
- When deemed appropriate by the Medical Director, the Nurse will be responsible for facilitating Injectable Medical Assisted Treatment as outlined in the Medication Assisted Treatment Policy
- Responsible for completing and filing required form of documentation
- Assist with other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor
Skills/Minimal Requirements:
- Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent care information to assure client rights are protected.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstance warrants such action
- Currently certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse per state regulations and must maintain licensure while employed or a formal education in MA.
- Experience in the drug/alcohol treatment field is preferred
- Must have computer skills required to be proficient in daily job functions
- Valid Driver’s License and be insurable without restriction through our insurance carrier.
- Knowledge of legal aspects of nursing care.
- Knowledge of public health nursing principles.
- Must pass a fitness for duty physical at time of employment
- Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Must be able to pass a background check, driving record check, physical, drug test, TB test and rapid COVID test as well as verification of education (when applicable
