We are seeking a skilled and committed Licensed Vocational Nurse or CertifiedMedical Assistant to join our medical team in South Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care as directed. Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Assist provider in seeing patients; gather and record vital signs and medical histories, prepare patients for examination, draw blood, initiate toxicology screens, and administer medications as directed.
- Record information in electronic medical records (EMR) database or paper chart and gather all essential components from demographic sheets/consents/credit policies/charge slips, updates medication module, and history.
- Complete necessary paperwork as ordered by provider inducing printing prescriptions, work restrictions, referrals, and scheduling MRIs.
- Observes and documents patients’ medical and educational needs to assist in patient assessment and care.
- Consistently follows the Nursing Plan of Care for the patient.
- Participate in the correct scheduling of patients, appropriate communication with the scheduling department by tasking.
- Accurately monitor, record and report on patients’ medical information and vital signs.
- Instruct individuals, families, and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs.
- Assists in pre/post operation by preparing patient for procedure; correctly identifying patient, procedure to be performed and procedure site. Updates and confirms medication and allergy profiles, completes appropriate clinical lab work (glucose reading, INR, pregnancy test, toxicology screen as indicated), completes and documents vital signs, pain status, HPI. Reinforces pre and post op teaching.
- Obtains and documents modified Aldrete and discharge scoring systems. Assists in discharge of patient with appropriate paperwork.
- Perform chart review on daily basis to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient documentation.
- Assists in keeping clinic orderly and follows appropriate cleaning protocols.
- Act as scribe for provider recording patient information as dictated, when requested.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians' instructions to patients.
- Always participate and maintain the safety and dignity of the patient.
- Effectively communicates with all providers and staff members.
- Driving may be required when working in clinic roles.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Requirements:- Current LVN/LPN license or Certified Medical Assistant.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical setting.
- Urgent care background preferred.
- High attention to detail and strong time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.

- Ability to work and communicate effectively with superiors and peers.
Pay Rate: $23.50 to $26 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm & Friday 7:30 am to 1 pm
Location: Based at clinic in South Austin, TX 78749
Travel: Cedar Park and Marble Falls locations. (paid mileage)
