Founded in 1961 by a group of mothers who believed their developmentally disabled children deserved quality care and education, the program was named Villa Esperanza (“House of Hope”) in 1966.
Job Description: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a conduit between Direct Care Staff and the Administrator & Registered Nurse ensuring the provision of direct services to individuals supported within the facility. As a valued member of the Direct Care Staff (DCS), the LVN plays a key role in preparing examination areas, administering treatments, and providing essential client care.
Our Adult Day Program is designed to develop and maintain an individual's functional, cognitive, and behavioral skills required for successful integration in the community. ADP is an adult day program serving 18 years and older with developmental disabilities who no longer qualify for public school funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination areas by assembling necessary equipment, instruments, and materials for treatment procedures.
- Record and maintain accurate client information, including height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure.
- Offer reassurance and comfort to clients who may be apprehensive about upcoming examinations or treatments.
- Oversee the administration of injections and medical processes in accordance with established protocols.
- Serve as a resource for both staff and clients, offering guidance and making appropriate referrals as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following written procedures and program design.
- Assist with medication management and training modules for staff.
- Support program management in meeting administrative program requirements and evaluating client competencies.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (35hrs/week)
Compensation: $32.00 - $36.00/hour
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid LVN license/certification.
- At least 2 years' experience as an LVN.
- Experience working with developmentally disabled population preferred.
***Final candidates must satisfactorily complete a fingerprinting clearance, physical & TB screenings, and submit proof of vaccination for COVID-19.
