First Steps Recovery is the Valley's leading provider of addiction care. Our services include a full continuum of care from inpatient detox to residential treatment and outpatient (PHP, IOP, OP) services. We operate a community of facilities in rural Clovis, the foothills near Prather (20 miles outside Clovis), and a full-service outpatient program in Clovis, where individuals struggling with addiction come for personalized care.
We are looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse that will work collaboratively with a broad multidisciplinary team to provide on-site medical services and support of the inpatient levels of care for our patients (detoxification and residential services).
Essential Functions:
- provides basic nursing care and behavioral interventions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and best-practices
- maintains compliance with HIPPA regulations, ADA, DHCS, and Joint Commission policies and procedures
- documents interventions and interactions with patients using an Electronic Medical Records system (EMR)
- oversees the medication ordering, storage, administration, and destruction processes
- participates collaboratively in interdisciplinary staff meetings to discuss, evaluate, and develop comprehensive treatment plans
- advocates on behalf of assigned client needs
- consults with interdisciplinary staff to ensure appropriateness of new clients for designated level of care and oversees the intake process
- communicate and collaborate with staff to carry out the company philosophy, vision, mission, and goals
- ensures compliance with the program’s medical policies and procedures regarding clinical nursing interventions, education, outcome assessments, and documentation standards
- assists in the coordination of ongoing medical care for all clients
- provides written and verbal nursing recommendations for situations requiring the application of nursing processes
- identifies, reports, and/or corrects any hazards/unsafe environmental situation or defective equipment
- participates in team building and collaboration between operational departments.
- participates in agency quality improvement activities
- assists with insurance compliance as needed
- provides support on performance measurement and outcome evaluation
- all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse
- California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Must complete pre-employment medical clearance and drug testing
- Must be willing to work with a wide variety of symptoms related to substance abuse and mental health
- Must have an understanding of and sensitivity toward working with multi-cultural populations, as well as an understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity
Experience:
- At least 12 months of licensed clinical work experience (required)
- At least 12 months of experience in substance use treatment or acute mental health (preferred)
- At least 12 months of supervisory or delegation experience (preferred)
