Overview
Position Summary:
The Division of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a full-time Psychologist to join the Inpatient Consultation/Liaison (C/L) Team at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The C/L multidisciplinary team is comprised of Psychologists, Psychiatric Social Workers, and Psychiatrists.
The C/L Team provides multidisciplinary mental health assessments, treatment interventions and recommendations.
The primary duties include:
- Provide psychological assessments, case conceptualization and practical recommendations to the primary team.
- Provide appropriate support to patient's family, including explanation of treatment, instructions in how to support treatment and interventions to increase acceptance of and adherence to treatment.
- Provide brief inpatient psychotherapy to individuals and families.
- Engage in multidisciplinary case consultation to select, plan, and evaluate treatment programs for the patient.
- Provide consultation to other care providers and health educators on matters relating to mental health, health psychology and behavioral medicine.
- Provide support for medical and nursing and ancillary staff in implementation of strategies and plans focused on behavior management.
- Provide effective liaison to the primary medical team requesting psychological/psychiatric support in direct patient care, and with outside therapists or clinicians as appropriate.
- Utilize resources to meet the needs of the patient's treatment to include referral of the member and/or member's family to external resources, as appropriate.
- Work with the multidisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate clinical treatment for the program.
- Participate in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Conducts staff training on the management and treatment of behavioral health conditions.

Education/Licensure/Certification:
Required Doctoral Level License, Registration or Certification Required Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D., in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology; prefer education from an APA-accredited program.
Licensed in Psychology in California.
BLS Certification required.
Pay Scale Information
USD $76,128.00 - USD $137,030.40

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
