Job Title: Licensed Professional Counselor
Job Summary:
The Licensed Professional Counselor will provide comprehensive mental health care, including assessment, diagnosis, therapy, and crisis intervention, to individuals and groups across a diverse population. They will collaborate with healthcare teams to develop treatment plans that improve clients' quality of life and foster personal growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
- Evaluate clients' medical history, social circumstances, and environmental factors to formulate treatment plans
Treatment Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or other modalities suited to the clients’ conditions.
Counseling and Psychotherapy
- Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy sessions to help clients manage and overcome mental health issues.
- Apply clinical social work techniques to assist clients in understanding and coping with stress, trauma, and mental illness.
Crisis Intervention
- Respond to emergency situations with appropriate interventions to manage acute mental health crises.
- Offer support and resources to clients dealing with immediate stressors or life-threatening situations.
Coordination of Care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Refer clients to other services or specialists as needed for further assessment or treatment.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records, documenting all care provided, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, ethical standards, and regulations related to clinical social work practice.
Professional Development and Education
- Stay informed of the latest research and developments in mental health and social work.
- Participate in continuing education, workshops, and training to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent state-specific licensure.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical social work practice, including assessment, therapy, and crisis intervention.
- Strong understanding of ethical and legal considerations in clinical social work.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
