Job Description : Forensic Psychiatric Hospital setting
Group and individual art therapy using Open Art Studio Model as well as directive focused art interventions with adults. Therapeutic work will engage mental health, personality, and cognitive functional needs. Experience with trauma work would be beneficial. Experience and understanding of material safety and art studio maintenance is also important.
In the role connected to Central Activities, facilitating social events and recreational programing will be part of the job. Such as dances, family visit days, and sports/games. Participation in monthly department meetings to communicate with colleagues and plan programming is expected.
The LPC role will require note documentation of individual therapy and directive focused groups. Open Art times are generally without documentation aside from attendance or significant incidents.
Attendance in monthly Psychology department meetings is expected. Occasionally, the department director will ask for help in completing escape evaluations, and individual risk assessment documentation. Chairing committees such as the hospital's Ethics Committee (reviewing patient grievances) and ASAP Committee (supportive follow up for staff that have experienced assault while at work) may be included in duties. Supervision of Counseling and/or Art Therapy practicum students may be asked of employee as well.
