TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Assists with preparation, implementation and continuing evaluation of the nursing care plan as a team member;
Observes, records and reports progress or any change in patient's condition;
Carries out uncomplicated therapeutic treatments such as complete bedside
nursing care, preparing and applying simple dressings and administering certain medications;
Assists with the rehabilitation of patients in accordance with the nursing care plan, such as assisting the patient with ambulation, assisting the patient with normal range of joint motion, and applying the principles of good body mechanics and body alignment;
Maintains essential nursing care records and reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a course of study approved by the NYS Education Department as qualifying for Licensed Practical Nurse.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Eligibility for a NYS Practical Nurse License. Possession of the license at the time of permanent appointment.
