Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Licensed Practical Nurse OTP***.
- Minimum of one year of experience required in a medical environment performing patient care duties. Prefer experience with persons seeking treatment for substance use disorders, with or without co-occurring mental disorders and experience in the administration of opioid medication is desirable.
This is a PART TIME (could be full time)/LONG TERM TEMP position requiring availability to work Rotating Shifts: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm, 5:30 am - 4:00 am, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, 10:30 am – 7:00 pm Saturday through Sunday (7 days a week the clinic is open but would not work all seven days) located in Norfolk, VA (23503). Must be available to work some weekends.
Responsibilities :
A Day in the life of a Substance Use LPN :
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (Substance Use Outpatient), you will provide general and psychiatric nursing services including but not limited to, mediation administration and delivery, intramuscular injections, weights, vital signs, body mass indices, glucose monitoring, mental status examinations, and phlebotomy. Administers and delivers medications in accordance with physician orders and documents activities in accordance with OTP and other company policies. Daily verifies opening quantity of methadone and buprenorphine stock; verifies and documents closing quantities of methadone and buprenorphine stock. Maintains daily chain of custody of take-home bottles of methadone, ensuring accurate delivery, storage and return of undelivered bottles back to the pharmacist in accordance with program policy and procedures and other duties as assigned. Requirements for the Licensed Practical Nurse Substance Use :
- Required: 1+ years of experience working as an LPN in a medical environment performing patient care duties.
- Required: Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or license from a participating state in the Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC).
- Required: CPR (healthcare provider card) or CPR certifiable
- Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
- Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
- Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications for the LPN Opioid Treatment Program :
- Preferred: Experience with persons seeking treatment for substance use disorders, with or without co-occurring mental disorders and experience in the administration of opioid medication is desirable.
- Preferred: Experience working in an outpatient setting.
- Preferred: Experience in packing and delivering medications.
