Six Bed Boutique Skilled Nursing Facility/ ALF Seeks RN/LPN
Schedule - Evening Shift Tuesday - Saturday
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the care plan for residents within assigned area. Assuring appropriate follow through of care directions by all members of the assigned nursing team therefore assuring high quality of services in a manner that demonstrates a good understanding of the principles and values of Assisted Living and care of persons with dementia. In addition, that which complies with state laws and regulations and emphasizes shared responsibility with the resident, and supports the resident's choice, dignity, independence, individuality, privacy and right to decision making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Makes daily rounds and identifies early signs and symptoms, changes in Resident's physical and psychological status and consults with supervisor, physician, Resident Care Manager, or Director of Nursing Services as necessary.
- The RN/LPN supervises nusing department staffing in the daily delivery of resident care, monitors and schedules job assignments and develop nursing unit prioities.
- Provide direct resident care as required, including assisting at meal time. Provides emotional support to residents and familiesin an appropiate professional manner. Provides health teaching as required.
- The RN/LPN observes and assesses resident condition, and consults with supervisor, physician, Resident Care Manager, or Director of Nursing Services as necessary. Administers or supervises the preparation and administraion of prescribed medications.
- Greets residents, visitiors and staff courteously with respect, dignity and promtoe resident rights.
- Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting and ect.
- Protects privacy and confindentially of information pertaining to the residents and employees.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May serve as a representative for department on the safety committee or other ad hoc committees.
- May perform duties of other staff in departments
QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
- Registered nurse graduate of a state approved school of nursing with successful completion of state board nursing exam and current unencumbered license.
- Maintains current certification in CPR.
- Demonstrates leadership ability and desire for professional growth.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competence in practicing the principles of good nursing care.
- Able to interact well with staff as well as residents and their families.
- Able to prioritize multi-demanding role using initiative and judgment.
SAFETY HAZARDS:
- Possible exposure to blood or body fluids.
- Requires considerable bending, twisting, reaching and lifting.
- Exposure to slippery floor surfaces.
EQUIPMENT USED: Wheelchairs, walkers, electric beds, hydraulic lift, medication carts and computer.
