Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) provide care to an underserved population of inmate patients. Correctional nursing is a diverse setting where you will manage acute, emergency, community health, psychiatric, and palliative care. LPNs deliver care utilizing the nursing assessment protocols in assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Work with a compassionate healthcare team dedicated to improving our patient’s quality of life. Make a positive difference in a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform and complete assessments in various settings.
- Collaborate with providers and health care team to ensure continuity of care.
- Promote a therapeutic environment to ensure inmates are treated in a professional, ethical, and tactful manner.
- Provide patient education and discharge planning.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current, unrestricted LPN license to practice in the same state as the facility.
- At least 1 year of RN experience in correctional healthcare preferred.
- A current CPR/BLS card with demonstrated cognitive skills is required.
- Must meet security clearance requirements.
Required Skills:
- Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills.
- Assertive, empathetic, and able to provide care objectively.
- Microsoft proficient.
- Experience in working with Electronic Health Records.
