Licensed Practical Nurse Lpn Annville, Lvacc Specialty Offices

Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse looking to gain experience in different areas? Are you looking for something different that has a great schedule? UPMC Lebanon Valley Ambulatory Care Center (LVACC) Specialists are looking to add a new LPN to their team. The LPN will work at LVACC in Annville, PA and will work for a variety of specialty surgery providers who rotate through the facility different days of the week. Different specialties include vascular surgery, general surgery, wound care, and more. This is a great way to learn many different specialties and gain experience in more than one area. The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. NO LATE EVENINGS. NO WEEKENDS. NO MAJOR HOLIDAYS.

Responsibilities:

• Room patients for various specialty surgeons and review appropriate medical information i.e. take vital signs, weight, medication history

• Assist surgeon with visits, set-up for procedures, exams, etc. that are specific to their specialty.

• Check out patients, schedule follow-up appointments and nurse visits, ordering medical and wound supplies.

• Communicate with home office in Lancaster.

• Provide excellent patient experience.

• Draw blood.

• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).

• Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.

• Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.

• Assess patient’s general condition and take vital signs and weight.

• Comply with all policies and procedures.

• Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.

• Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.

• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

• Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

• Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
• One-year clinical experience preferred, but not a requirement for position.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Act 34

• Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
