Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
The LPN assumes responsibility for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a RN or MD in the patient care area. The LPN contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through techniques that support and achieve positive outcomes in patient care.
Qualifications

- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Considerable knowledge of the care and treatment of patients and special procedures that apply to practical nursing
- Ability to use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment, and follow-up
- Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively
- Ability to work with a variety of groups; multidisciplinary teams, managers, and staff
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/ or equipment over 50 pounds
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Practical/ Vocational program
- Must possess and maintain in accordance with state law; LPN license, BCLS, and all other applicable certifications
- Current Physical, PPD, and Hepatitis B vaccination
- Passing score of 75 % on agency qualifying exam
- Reliable transportation
- Current working telephone number
- Mobile device with internet capability for charting purposes (cell phone or tablet)
- Clean Background check
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties shall include but limited to the following:
- Adhering to the LPN scope of practice as set forth by the State Board of Nursing
- Preserving the dignity and self-respect of patients
- Practicing patient privacy and confidentiality
- Performing specific treatments as ordered by the MD while under RN supervision
- Administering prescribed medication within the state scope of practice
- Collaborating with other health care providers and provide education to patients and/ or significant others
- Documenting and reporting care received, changes, observations and other data related to the clinical condition of the patient to the RN
- Performing other duties as requested
