Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

We are a 100+ year old family business that plays an important role in our community. We currently have an immediate full time employment opening for a Funeral Director/Embalmer. This is an excellent opportunity for meaningful employment at an independent, family owned funeral home with competitive compensation.

Qualifications include licensure by the State of Oregon as a Funeral Director/Embalmer as well as interpersonal skills such as compassion, care, and effective communication abilities. This position also requires individuals to be organized, display a strong attention to detail, have the ability to handle stressful situations, and a sometimes fast-paced, emotionally charged environment. Applicants need to be able to work with a variety of other professionals, including police, medical examiners, doctors and nurses; as well as the families we serve and other members of our staff.

The position available includes daily duties such as:

-Arrangement Conferences (meeting with families following a death)

-Funeral Planning

-Preplanning Assistance

-First Calls (removal of deceased person from place of death)

-Embalming

-Preparation of the Body

-Office Work (such as completing vital records, submitting obituaries, coordinating services, etc.)

We have multiple schedules available and will determine the best fit based on level of experience. Please inquire for more information.

*People interested in an apprenticeship will be considered at a different wage range.
Supplemental income available for overtime, time spent on-call, or covering phones.
