Licensed Funeral Director / Embalmer

License must be provided for employment. Starting pay is $50,000 salary a year with health and dental insurance included. 24 hour shifts for 3 or 4 days a week.

The Funeral Director / Embalmer will oversee, direct, and coordinate all aspects of funeral services including body preparation, visitation, services, burials, and organizing cremations, while providing knowledgeable, caring support and advice to families and friends of the deceased.

You will cater to the needs of the deceased from washing and preserving to cosmeticizing and dressing.

You will discuss the options and preference for disposition of the remains; address and explain the costs of the funeral with family and/or friends of the deceased.

As well as coordinate practical arrangements for the funeral that are respectful, timely, and sensitive, including scheduling with cemeteries for opening and closing of facilities and gravesites, as necessary.

You will also oversee the issuance of death notices, obituaries, and related paperwork to government agencies and preferred newspapers or other media.
