Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral arrangements, including meeting with families to discuss their needs and preferences, coordinating services and ceremonies, and ensuring all legal requirements are met.
- Provide guidance and support to families throughout the funeral planning process, including assisting with obituaries, selecting merchandise, and making arrangements for funeral and cemetery services.
- Prepare and embalm deceased individuals according to industry standards and regulations, ensuring the highest level of care and respect.
- Coordinate with clergy, celebrants, and other service providers to ensure services are conducted in accordance with the wishes of the family and any religious or cultural traditions.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including contracts, permits, and financial transactions, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide support and assistance to grieving families, including offering grief counseling resources and referrals as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid FSP license as a Funeral Director in the state of New Mexico or ability to obtain license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and connect with families during difficult times.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of families and the business.
