Job Description
Fire systems technicians are responsible for inspecting and servicing fire alarms, suppression systems and sprinklers. It is preferable for applicants to have experience and Ohio fire licenses in one or all of these areas, although this is not required. New hires without licenses will be trained and required to pass the State Certification exam(s) to obtain the necessary licenses within expected timeframes.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Technical and mechanical knowledge, aptitude, and interest
- Successfully passing sate certification exams in expected timeframes
- Desire to learn and master new fire systems
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
- High school diploma or GED with 2 years mechanical or electrical experience or technical training
- Valid Drivers License with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
- Ability to lift heavy items periodically
- Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Compensation
Compensation ranges from $65,000 - $85,000+ per year based on experience and productivity. Silco has annual compensation raises based on merit.
