Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Position Purpose
Assessing the needs of offering theapeutic support to students for the achievement of academic success in the classroon.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling
  • Provide therapeutic classroom support which may include observation, crisis intervention, and staff consultation
  • Functional Behavior Assessment/Behavior Improvement Plan support, IEP support
  • Provide family treatment/support as needed to improve/maintain educational functioning. These services may include short-term family therapy, family liasison and home visits.
  • Provide crisis intervention as it pertains to educational performance. Intervention may include family and/or interagency involvement (DMH, DRS, YRE, ICT, Family Court, and other mental health agencies)
  • Provide referals to and collaborate with mental health agencies
  • Participate as a member of the IEP team for students receiving services
  • Serve as a liaison for psychiatric and medication management
  • Service as a liaison between families, students, community agencies, and the schools
  • Provide ongoing assessments of students utilizing documention of Incident Reports, Bus Referrals, Suspensions, FBA's, BIP's, Treatment Notices, and Dcoumentation of Parent Contracts.
  • Obtain pre and post measurements to evaluate program efficiency.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff on behavioral management strategies.
  • Provide families information regarding behavioral management strategies.
  • Home visits as needed
  • Prepares all necessary records and reports
  • Perform other duties as me be assigned by school administration

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Qualifications Profile
  • Must hold current Delaware Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Teacher Certification - Delaware Code Title 14 Section 1500
NOTE: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required for all employees of the Seaford School District.

NOTE: Currently employed staff members interested and certified/licensed in this position will be given first consideration and should remit a staff transfer request on the Seaford School District website www.seafordbluejays.org no later than the application closing date referenced above.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: All new state employees will be required to participate in the State of Delaware's Direct Deposit system. With direct deposit, wage and salary payments are deposited in the employee's bank account via electronic funds transfer.
All final candidates for employment must have a satisfactory criminal background check before being placed on contract/payroll as per State of Delaware regulations. Candidates must call the Delaware State Police at (800) 464-4357 to make an appointment. The cost of the criminal background check is $65 (expense borne by the prospective employee). Final candidates must also receive a satisfactory child protection registry check.
Final candidates must also produce documentation of Mantoux skin test results for entrance to school system.
The State of Delaware has initiated a lag pay policy which means that new employees will receive the first paycheck at the end of the second pay period of work.
