Position Description
The chosen candidate will provide individual and group counseling in an inpatient setting for clients in the Davidson County Residential Drug Court Alcohol and Drug treatment program (DC4). DC4 provides access to a continuum of alcohol, drug, and other treatment and rehabilitation services. This position prepares DC4 clients for re-entry into the family and the community by assisting them with maintaining sobriety and a self-sufficient lifestyle.
This is a Full-Time Grant Funded Non-Civil Service position.
The candidate must be a licensed counselor to be considered for this position.
Typical Duties

• Clinically assessing clients
• Developing individualized treatment plans
• Providing individual and group counseling to clients
• Maintaining client records and completing weekly progress notes
• Making referrals and coordinating with external programs and agencies for supplemental and/or specialized services
• Meeting weekly with drug court treatment team and providing client progress to drug court judge
• Perform related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the field of Alcohol & Drug treatment
• Must have experience working in the field of drug & substance abuse and mental health treatment as a counselor
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Working knowledge of group dynamics, disease concept of addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention
• Ability to work within a team.
• Must have valid Tennessee Driver's License

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Preferred Master's in Counseling or Social Work
• LPC-MHSP or LCSW
• LPC-MHSP (temp) or LAPSW/LMSW considered if under supervision
