Job Description
We are a fast-paced, growing heart and vascular surgery center seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task. As an LVN you will work collaboratively with the providers within the team setting to facilitate quality care for the patient.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Performs pre-procedural chart review, obtains all required labs and diagnostic studies
- Coordinates with outside offices to obtain all necessary medical records
- Completes a thorough medication reconciliation, instructs patient on pre-procedural and post procedural medications changes
- Completes pre and post procedural patient assessments and education via phone
- Occasionally assist with rooming procedural patients, including obtaining vital signs and prepping surgical site
- Maintains patient files, records and other information in a professional manner following policies and procedures regarding documentation.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional licensure and affiliations.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner.
- Maintains established policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing
- Valid state license to practice nursing
- BCLS Certification
Desired Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in the cardiovascular field
- Knowledge of ICD10, CPT and HCPCS Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Previous surgical experience preferred
Work Environment
This position is a clinical position and will report to the office Monday- Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 PM.
Physical Requirements
This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
