Looking for a responsible and friendly nurse for a small family practice/OB GYN clinic.
POSITION: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides assistance to and is under the supervision of physicians and/or Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the examination and treatment of patients in the clinic.
S/he will assist the physician in performing routine tests for the purpose of evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients. The LVN provides clinical services under the supervision of the physician and/or R.N., such as: draws blood, gives injections, administers and reads negative skin tests, administers immunizations and vaccinations, administers prescribed medications and treatments, obtains laboratory specimens, obtains health histories, takes vital signs and preps patients for doctor’s examination.
The LVN will participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) and Quality Measures (QM) meetings. At minimum, s/he will attend ongoing trainings in using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and attend Continuing Education Units (CEUs). S/he will review quality measures and patient satisfaction surveys and implement necessary improvement plans to reach required thresholds. S/he will perform other duties as assigned.
For a Lead L.V.N., S/he will be responsible for the supervision of other L.V.N.s and other clinical staff.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Modern principles, techniques and procedures of nursing, including, medical terminology. Ability to perform skillfully and effectively the duties of a LVN. Work effectively with individuals and follow oral and written directions. Mature judgement, tact, discretion and confidentiality are mandatory. Requires a professional, pleasant and effective representation of the corporation. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California driver’s license. Must submit to and pass a drug test, physical and a criminal background clearance as a pre-condition for employment. Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, TB test and MMR, TDAP and Hepatitis B vaccines.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, or equivalent;possession of a valid license to practice as a licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of California under the scope of practice of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric technician.
