Library Page (Part-Time)

Introduction

Prince William Public Libraries is seeking an energetic, adaptable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Page. You will work independently, and as part of a team, to ensure materials are accurately shelved and easily accessible for patrons and staff. The Library Page position is physical in nature with long periods of standing, stooping, and bending while lifting, sorting, and relocating substantial quantities of books and materials, some of which may weigh up to 20 lbs. About This Role:

• Shelve materials accurately and maintain a neat presentation of the library’s collection.
• Perform page opening/closing duties.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Create and maintain displays to highlight the library’s collection.
• Attend training and may assist in training incoming staff.
• May process U.S. passport applications by becoming a certified passport agent, if eligible.

• Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System.
• Accurately file, both alphabetically and numerically.
• Scheduling flexibility.
• Knowledge of Library Integrated System (for example, Polaris).
• Knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint, WebEx.
• Prior filing or inventory experience.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
