Salem Public Library is hiring a part time library assistant. Duties include circulating materials to patrons, registering borrowers, collecting fines and fees, answering phones, providing technical assistance, and responding to patron inquiries. Library assistant will also provide users with general information about library services and will apply library policy consistently in public service situations. Applicants should have good computer/technology skills (computers, tablets, printers, copiers, and smartphones). Desired skills/traits include an outgoing personality, ability to work as a team, and work well with children, tweens, and teens. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have the ability to lift 30 lbs. Hours include nights and weekends.
