Must provide an acceptance letter from the dean. Must provide an official transcript indicating applicant has taken (or is currently taking) Master of Library Science or related program courses or registration document indicating applicant is enrolled for the current term. Must be able to work weekends and nights. (Salary: $47,059.69) Trainee Level: Must be currently enrolled in an American Library Association (ALA) accredited graduate school Master's degree program in Library Science or related program and have completed at least 18 semester credits in Library Science or related program. Must be able to work weekends and nights. (Salary: $49,143.07) Librarian Level: Master's degree in Library Science or related program from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited graduate school. Librarian 1 (Branches)
This position may be second-in -command of a small branch or a supervisor at a large branch and will be responsible for staffing the public service desks, developing programs for specific ages, assisting with large scale events and outreach in the community, as well as submitting work orders, performance evaluations and incident reports. The incumbent in this position may be responsible for supervision of Library Assistants and Library Pages or Interns and will assist with Serials Record Management, collection development, and processing and verifying the daily and weekly money.
Librarian 1 (Special Services)
This position will reside in the Special Services Unit and will be serving customers by phone, e-mail and postal mail; responsible for performing in-depth readers advisory for customers and fulfilling requests through 3 ILS modules, OCLC and postal software. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for supervising Library Assistants and Pages, assisting with collection maintenance, and will participate in programs and outreach to childcare facilities, senior facilities, and community events. Additionally, this position will at times require working nights and weekends.
