Kakivik Asset Management is looking for an experienced Level ll NDT.

 

The person in this position is responsible for performing site visits, job walk-downs, the hands-on inspection, and preliminary evaluations of inspected items. This individual reports directly to the Kakivik Special Projects and Kenai Based Project Coordinator/QC and will work primarily on Peninsula 3rd Party Projects, Call Out NDT inspections within the State of Alaska, along with backfilling core positions on other Kakivik Projects– This including and not limited to Prudhoe Bay, Capital Projects, and Texas operations. This position is required to be responsive to our client’s needs and projects, it is preferred that the individual who fills this position is Peninsula based, or willing to relocate.

 

Essential job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
  1. Demonstrate and ensure an overall commitment to safety.
  2. Able to work in a team environment and independently.
  3. An NDT Level II individual shall be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment for task at hand.
  4. Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, specifications, procedures, and customer’s specific requests.
  5. Properly perform specific calibrations, specific NDE, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and to record accurate results.
  6. As required by various jobs and clients:Read isometric drawings.
    1. Able to be responsive to client calls and emails.  
    2. Execute safety and permitting requirements.
    3. Perform routine maintenance and repair equipment.
    4. Operate vehicles and equipment (With certification or license)..
  7. Direct, instruct, and be a positive role model to the trainee or Level I that is accompanying them on the job.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities       A minimum ASNT Level II certification in the following methods and techniques

 

a. Required - Radiographic Testing (RT) Level II specific to code inspection in accordance with ASME, API and AWS standards. Must         have a minimum two years’ experience interpreting code film

b. Required - Radiographic Testing (RT) Level II specific to corrosion inspection in accordance with customer 

     specifications.  Must have a minimum two years’ experience interpreting corrosion film.

c. Required - Computed Radiographic Testing (CR) Level II specific to code inspection in accordance with ASME, API and          AWS         standards. Must have a minimum two years’ experience interpreting CR images.

             d. Required – Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II specific to Straight Beam inspection of corrosion in accordance with ASME,                                        API, ABS, and AWS Standards.

          e. Preferred - Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level II specific to Angle Beam (Shearwave) inspections of welds in accordance with                                      ASME, API and AWS standards.

             f.  Required – IRRSP or State issued Radiographer’s card

             g. Required - Magnetic Particle (MT) Level II specific to Yoke techniques using both wet/dry & visible/fluorescent  mediums.

          h. Required - Liquid Penetrant (PT) Level II specific to visible/water wash technique

             i.  Preferred – API 570 Certification or API 653 Certification  

 

 

 


RequirementsQualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or GED
    1. Valid driver’s license
  2. Pass a Background Check and Drug Screen
  3. IRRSP or State issued Radiographers card
Working Conditions:

       Work extended hours in sub-zero temperatures.  Overtime will be required.

 

Physical Restrictions:

  1. The overall physical health of the Individual should be well enough to allow them to:
  1. Vision – correctable to at least 20/40.
  2. Climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolding up to 100 feet multiple times per day, utilizing three points of contact.
  3. Be able to safely carry up to 65 pounds with one hand. Must be able to climb stairs/scaffolding/ladder while holding handrail with opposite hand.
  4. Be able to work at heights up to 100 feet.
  5. Be able to work in a crouched position for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds while in the crouched position.
  6. Be able to lift up to 65 pounds with a rope using hand-over-hand technique.
  7. Be able to work in confined spaced and repetitively bend and/or twist through small entryways.
  8. Be able to carry and effectively manipulate a twelve-to-sixteen foot ladder.
  9. Be able to occasionally lift up to 65 pounds to shoulder level.
  10. Be able to walk, climb on and maneuver on or around piping, piping supports and while working in a crouched position.
  11. Must have hand dexterity to manipulate camera source cranks.
  12. Arm strength push/pull up to 75 pounds; leg strength, up to 175 pounds.
