POSITION TITLE:Level III Technician Layer I
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Level III Technician to support the Facility Infrastructure Team by installing copper and fiber infrastructure. The Level III Technician possesses 3-5 years of experience in cable infrastructure installation. This position will be both technically experienced and possess the skills needed to lead a small project team. The ideal candidate has cable installation experience, the ability to travel nationwide, as well as a strong work ethic and an ALL IN attitude to
achieve results.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform Inside Plant Operations including, but no limited to, Lace cable, test/certify copper, terminate mechanical fiber, install conduit, layout cable paths, etc.
  • Interpret and understand installation blueprints, resolve drawing issues when needed
  • Properly mount displays
  • Basic understanding of bonding & grounding racks
  • Perform the addition or removal of energized equipment
  • Test/Certify Copper utilizing various testing equipment and technologies
  • Provide assignments, technical support, and leadership to technicians on site
  • Troubleshoot Network issue
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership

  • Mid- Level understanding of network infrastructure design requirements
  • Basic understanding of equipment port layouts
  • Networking knowledge (preferably CCENT, CCNA or equivalent experience)
  • Solid understanding of network infrastructure design requirements and end to end service development from
    pre-concept to operational support
  • Certifications in BICSI Installer 1 - Fiber & Copper & BICSI Installer 2 - Copper (preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, projectors, copy/fax, and smartphones
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking, and driving
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated
  • When working on site, will be required to wear common protective of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and life jackets

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • 3-5 years of experience with cable installation procedures required
  • CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) preferred but not required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

This position pays an hourly rate of up to $38 an hour based on experience.
This position also offers a prevailing wage rate of $72.66 an hour while working on certain sites.
