Summary
SUMMARY
Learn to perform follow-up (servicing) responsibilities associated with the granting of consumer, real estate and commercial credit to the Bank's borrowers. Incumbents at this level will learn to successfully prepare and follow-up on loan documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Learn to perform full range of duties pertaining to the loan servicing function, including, but not limited to the following. Learn to obtain pay-off information as necessary. Learn to document, track, and follow-up on any exceptions.
Learn to send tickets to the support desk for new loans.
Learn to review new loans entered on the system.
Learn to forward lien requests to appropriate authority including Recorder, Treasurer, and Secretary of State and follow-up to insure proper recording of liens. Learn preparation of releases and satisfactions for loans.
Learn to obtain initial coverage binders or copies of policies from borrowers or insurance agents and maintain up-to-date policies in credit files. Ascertain level of insurance is appropriate and the Bank is listed as lien holder. Learn follow-up procedures for replacement of canceled insurance policies.
Learn to process payment reversals.
Learn to check file maintenance changes on daily loan report.
Learn to check loan posting journal for any rejects to be corrected.
Learn to check new loans and edit for errors.
Learn to support the branch employees' customer service and sales efforts.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops.
Prepare and maintain reports, sorting and filing in appropriate manuals/books.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: telephone, 10-key calculator, typewriter, personal computer and printer, copy machine, document filmer/scanner, step stool and/or ladder, multi-drawer file cabinet, fax machine.
Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and database software programs.
KEY CONTACTS--Internal and External
Supervisor and more senior members of staff to learn duties associated with the job.
Has limited contact with customers, their personal representatives, insurance reps, title company reps, credit life/disability insurance company claims reps, attorneys, etc., in responding to inquiries as part of the loan processing function.
Has limited contact with other financial institutions in responding to credit information on customers (e.g., credit status, pay-offs).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license.
