  • Position Summary:RidesEngineering & Water Quality Supervisor and serves as a technical subjectmatter expert on all waterpark attractions and rides throughout the resort.
    Responsiblefor, but not limited to, supervising the day-to-day operation and maintenanceof all mechanical/electrical maintenance of all rides, buildings, attractions,and special effects to meet all manufacturers specifications and complianceguidelines.
    This isa working supervisor's role supporting LEGOLAND®, LEGOLAND® California WaterPark, CHIMA Water Park, Surfers Cove, Hotel Pools & Spas. Responsibilityextends to the safety of guests and employees, which includes all aspects ofASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), San Diego County and lossprevention guidelines.
    Responsiblefor training and supervising the maintenance department with hands-onexperience. Promotes a positive team environment that enhances a positive moraland promotes guest safety. Seeks new opportunities to train, coach, and mentora team of Water Quality Technicians. Create and maintain a Water Quality teamsschedule and daily scope of work to support the resorts business needs.
    Additionalresponsibilities include removal, installation, repairs, and tests all watertreatment and filtration systems within the resort. Troubleshoots complex watertreatment and filtration systems. Keeps chemical balance in pools and lakes atsafe health standard levels. Assists in developing and maintaining a preventivemaintenance program to ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained in a safeand efficient life cycle.
    Maintainsthe operation and maintenance of all aspects of Water Quality requirements.
    Activelyleads and participates in a clean and orderly work environment.
    Performsother maintenance functions within the resort and assists other maintenance MCsas deemed necessary by Rides & Attractions Manager.
    Monitorswater parks performance, actively maintains PM's schedules, manages inventory,and budgets, manages risk prevention. Participate in business development,interacts with manufactures, parts ordering.
    Scope andResponsibilities:Assists the Rides Manager in park maintenance scheduling and budgeting for theme park facilities, buildings, and attractions.
    Follows established maintenance program, including emergency repairs as required to keep down time to an acceptable minimum in all areas of attractions and facilities.
    Ensures internal compliance with maintenance, safety, and security procedures by following established ASTM, San Diego County, and loss prevention guidelines.
    Ensures that all maintenance employees always follow the LEGO-established employee policies.
    Writes requisitions for parts and materials for rides, buildings, and all other attractions, then forwards them to the manager for approval.
    Keeps tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and good working order.
    Keep safety as #1 priority.
    Assists Rides Manager in preparing yearly budgets and constantly monitors budget for maximum efficiency and cost savings without jeopardizing the safety of guests and Model Citizens (MCs.)
    Assists Rides Manager in establishing long and short-range maintenance goals.
    Assists in designing and expanding a comprehensive training system geared to meet LEGO maintenance requirements.
    Keeps informed of modern management techniques and technical methods by attending supplemental courses, seminars, conventions, etc.
    Keeps abreast of governmental, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, ASTM, and San Diego County codes.
    Assists in conducting weekly staff meetings for the purpose of directing, informing, training, and motivating maintenance MCs.
    Creates and maintains teamwork within the maintenance department and all other departments.
    Periodically accompany maintenance technicians during ride inspections to recheck their methods, techniques, and procedures to ensure that their qualifications are current and complete.
    Evaluates procedures, methods, and monitors MCs productivity.
    Formally reviews MCs skills in regard to job performance and discusses written report with same on a quarterly basis.
    Assists Rides Manager in scheduling major maintenance repairs and program assignments.
    Review schedules of maintenance MCs with the Rides Manager.
    Background and Experience:Requires a minimum of five years maintenance experience in a mechanical field as a journeyman.
    Requires building maintenance experience and the ability to read blueprints pertaining to rides, attractions, and buildings.
    Ability to react under pressure and in emergency situations in a calm, rational manner required.
    Requires a thorough understanding of utilities, mechanical and basic electrical maintenance requirements of all Rides and equipment, including high-volume submersible and turbine-type water pumps.
    Ability to delegate responsibilities clearly, concisely, and maintain an open-door policy.
    Requires extensive knowledge in preventive maintenance systems.
    Requires the ability to walk into a situation, inspect and check work performed by others, and make a decision that the attraction is safe to reopen, keeping safety in mind as the top priority.
    Ability to read and evaluate reports, correspondence, and use basic math.
    Ability to maintain a friendly, polite demeanor.
    Requires the ability to observe and remember details, and to effectively follow and give directions.
    Requires effective decision-making skills.
    Computer literacy required.
    A considerable knowledge of the different tools and equipment used to repair and maintain Rides and other mechanical equipment is required.
    Knowledge of the practices, tools, and equipment used to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain water filtration and treatment practices is required.
    Experience in the basic practices of plumbing, PVC piping application, and installation is required.
    Education / Experience:High school diploma or general education degree equivalent is required.
    AA Degree Preferred
    Physical Demands:Work all hours, rotating schedules to include weekends and holidays.
    Maintain excellent physical condition with no restrictions on lifting, bending, or respiratory actions.
    Stand and walk for long periods of time.
    Climb to high places and perform work and inspection in difficult locations.
    Hear with surrounding distracting noises.
    Work Environment:Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
    Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
    Other Requirements:Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support resort operations.
    Must be able to pass a background check and have valid driver's license, safe driving record, and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes.
    Water Quality Technicians will be required to obtain an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate within 6 months of employment.
    NAARSO level 1 certified.
    OSHA Construction and General Industry Hazard recognition 30-hour training certified.
    Level 2 internal department Electrician certified.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments. Work typically performed outdoors in various weather conditions. Compensation:
This is an exempt role: The compensation pay scale is between $80,000.00 and $90,000.00
