Work Locations: With the exception of some select roles that have in-office requirements, A+E Networks operates on a flexible model that allows for remote, hybrid or full time in office work (in certain locales).
Office locations include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Stamford, CT.

Job Description
L&BA is seeking a bright and detailed-oriented individual to join the Legal Operations team as a Legal Operations Specialist. Legal Operations focuses on incorporating technology into L&BA practices to drive efficiency and accountability, measure financial success, and align with our business partners, all while promoting a collaborative culture.
As the Legal Operations Specialist, you will work closely with all members of L&BA, including a select number of senior executives, as well as business partners at all levels of the company. As a generalist, you also will support the management of various projects and programs across the full range of subject matters supported by L&BA. You must be able to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, and to identify proactively new areas of opportunity for L&BA.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Legal Operations

  • Partner closely with Technology in managing its priorities and implementations impacting L&BA.

  • Help evaluate existing business processes throughout L&BA and explore and research new applications to build upon L&BA's capabilities and create efficiencies and cost savings.

  • Draft informational updates on various projects to relevant stakeholders and appropriate audiences on a regular cadence.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for operational and technology related project requests.

  • Program Management: Assist with business requirements, gathering, build out, and integration of a contract management solution.

  • Information Governance Support: Provide support in fine-tuning existing and new retention policies (data, records, content) and in supporting Technology, Office Services & Facilities, and Broadcast Operations in their implementation.

  • Social Responsibility: Find creative ways to galvanize, communicate, and foster participation of various volunteer service, pro bono initiatives, and charitable opportunities curated and launched by L&BA's Social Responsibility Committee.

  • L&BA Optimization: Support Legal Operations in cultivating balanced, driven, high-impact teams within L&BA, and fostering a positive and engaged culture through skills development.

  • Become the subject matter expert in various legal system solutions (e.g., eDocs, HotDocs, Airtable, DocuSign, Jaggear, etc.), and design and conduct system trainings utilizing Workday Learning Management System.

  • Assist with implementing a Legal Operations intranet page and rolling out an L&BA Directory.

  • Manage all L&BA subscriptions (PLI, MLRC, Law360, etc.), including coordinating renewal negotiations, organizing L&BA rosters, and conducting trainings for L&BA users.

Litigation Support
  • Provide research support, as needed, for Matter Management in Litigation (e.g., lawsuits, claims, subpoenas, governmental inquiries, unsolicited submissions, levies, etc.).

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist several L&BA senior executives with scheduling, travel arrangements, travel and expense reimbursement, etc. Help manage L&BA departmental communications.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

YOUR STORY:
  • Must have bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in a relevant field, such as data analytics, business administration, legal studies or information technology, along with the one of the following trainings: Legal Operations or ABA-approved paralegal training.

  • Minimum 1 year experience with legal project operations and management; or minimum 2 year experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or Executive Assistant in a law department of a government agency, in-house legal or business affairs department of a television, publishing, music or media company the size/activity level of A+E.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required to be a successful team player. Must be able to work cross-functionally, interacting with all levels of management, across departments, and outside counsel.

  • Exceptional listening skills and ability to empathize.

  • Experience developing forms, processes, and policies.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; efficiently plan, organize and prioritize time managing multiple deadlines, and easily flex to changing priorities.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills.

  • Resourceful and willing to take initiative on anticipating future needs and propose solutions.

  • Maturity and good judgment is "a must" since this role deals with confidential matters regularly.

  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms, etc.) and other productivity tools.

  • Technology proficiency using eDocs, HotDocs, Adobe Acrobat Pro X, Airtable, Jaggear, Concur, Project Management tools, a plus.

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $35.97 - $44.84
Annual Incentive Target: 5%
The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the
minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will
be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills,
competencies, location, and experience. A+E offers a competitive total compensation
