Legal Intern

Giesecke+Devrient ePayments America, Inc. is seeking a paid Legal Intern on a hybrid basis to join our growing team in Dulles, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to gain hands-on experience in a fast paced, collaborative, in-house legal environment!This paid position will begin full-time in the summer and continue as a part-time position through the school year with the expectation of a commitment of at least one year. This position supports the legal department of six attorneys and two legal support staff with various tasks as detailed below.Location: 45925 Horseshoe Drive, Dulles, Virginia 20166

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support legal team with various administrative and ad-hoc projects (maintaining project spreadsheets, migration of contracts data, data entry, etc.)
• Support significant data entry project involving the integration of a contract lifecycle management tool.
• Manage the contract database system by uploading and tracking all contracts for various internal businesses; reviewing all contracts in order to input required fields on key contract terms and to determine scope of confidentiality.
• Support legal research and drafting as requested under the supervision of attorneys.
• Support the management and tracking the daily workflow of incoming legal matters, including communication with internal stakeholders and the lead attorney on all key project deadlines and deliverables for a particular matter.
• Maintain all legal department files and the filing system for all contracts and corporate documents.
• Support internal and external audits by retrieving contracts in timely manner.
• Support Contract Administrator in management of tasks.
• Support legal staff meetings.
• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Current undergraduate, graduate student, or law student
• Consistently detail-oriented
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Superior research skills
• Interest/experience in contracts and/or prior contracts course work preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
• Strong grammar, writing skills, and communication skills
• Motivated self-starter; works independently when given a task
• Interest in AI based tools to help efficiency of the legal department
• Tech savvy
