Position: Legal Document Specialist
Position Type: Part Time – Regular
Shift: 9am – 1pm
Job Location : Palmer AK ( Remote )
Pay Rate : $20 to $23/hrs
The Legal Document Specialist will be responsible for assigned activities, including reviewing, identifying and scanning of civil complaints at various State County courts. In addition to providing document support, the assistant will liaise with project managers, off site agents, and scanning locations across Exela’s Mailroom centers to support the production process and in parallel publishing of court documents.
Responsibilities:
· Must have the ability to juggle a stream of daily cases on tight deadlines
· Visit assigned courthouse either daily or several times per week
· Monitoring filings to identify key cases of interest
· Review documents, identify mainly civil complaints
· Scanning of court documents at various County courthouses
· Assist with same-day filing of the electronic copy
· Track and log electronic submissions of daily court filing
· Develop relationships with appropriate contacts in the courthouses
· Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings and video conferences with Company assigned Project Manager
Qualifications:
· Graduate; Legal experience or first or second year law students are preferred
· Strong research skills
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team
The Essentials:
· Experience as a legal intern, paralegal within legal publishing, media and print preferable
· Ability to follow departmental processes, operate within, and keep track of deadlines
· Have a valid driver’s license, up-to-date vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation with willingness to use for company purposes
· Must have access to a cell phone
· Ability to commute: Reliably commute or planning to relocate may be required. Location may vary
· Schedule: Day Shift – Monday through Friday, usually 9am - 1pm with some variation
The pay range for this position starts at $20; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus opportunities may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered
