Position Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking a Lecturer of Exercise Science in the Health and Human Performance department. This is a full-time, 9-month position, with an anticipated start date of August 26, 2024. Responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate courses in different areas, instructing at all levels.

Starting salary for this position is $38,000, commensurate with skills and experience. Responsibilities:

The primary duty will be teaching Exercise Science undergraduate courses in the Department of Health & Human Performance. Courses to be taught may include (but are not limited to): Biomechanics, Anatomical Kinesiology, Exercise Technique & Performance, Human Nutrition, Physiology of Exercise, and Exercise Science Research Methods. Employees are also expected to participate in curriculum development, assessment and revisions, maintaining professional contacts, university/community service and outreach activities, and possible advising of undergraduate Health & Human Performance students. 

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Ability to engage modern pedagogy to teach undergraduate students through classroom and laboratory settings.
  • Willingness, interest, or experience in cross-disciplinary collaborations.
  • Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with colleagues to complete tasks and goals.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in an Exercised Science environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses during or after completion of graduate school or at least two semesters as a graduate teaching assistant for a lab.
