Lecturer - Japanese Language (#F2919PO)
The School of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Vermont invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position in Japanese language, at the rank of Lecturer. The initial appointment term is for the 2024-25 academic year and is renewable, based on the factors outlined in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position will start in the Fall of 2024 (August 19, 2024).
The successful candidate should:
· Hold a M.A. or higher degree in Japanese language pedagogy or relevant areas;
· Have native or near-native fluency in both Japanese and English, and at least two-year experience teaching Japanese to students in North America at the college level.
The successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities that include:
Teaching Japanese language at all levels, organizing extracurricular Japanese language and cultural activities, and being actively engaged in the Japanese Program matters through working cooperatively with other faculty members.
· The position is a full-time position at 1.0 FTE, with eight courses anticipated for the academic year.
