Job description

Position Information
The Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the College of Business at North Dakota State University invites applications for a full-time (non-tenure track) position of Lecturer in the area of accounting. We are located in Barry Hall, a state-of-the-art facility steps away from the downtown Fargo business district. The accounting field is changing to require more data analysis and personal interaction skills. We need instructors who can help our students develop these skills. Your professional experience, enthusiasm, and optimism can be a vital asset to our department.
Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Accounting. The normal teaching load is eight three-credit courses per academic year (Aug 16 - May 15), which counts for 80% of the workload. Service (20% of the workload) includes promoting the accounting profession and NDSU accounting programs, advising student clubs and serving on department, college and university committees.
Salary:
$60,000+
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master of Accountancy, MBA, JD, PhD or other advanced degree in a business-related discipline.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, or other related qualification)
  • Ability to teach in multiple areas of accounting (i.e. financial, managerial, AIS, tax, audit, and/or fraud)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to teach in multiple modalities (in-person, online synchronous and/or online asynchronous)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Record of quality teaching in Accounting
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience in Accounting or a related field
  • Ability to teach tax and/or fraud
