Bryant University invites applications for a full-time term lecturer position in the History, Literature, and the Arts Department for the first-Year Writing/Composition program beginning August 1, 2024. The first-year writing course is an integral part of our General Education curriculum, designed to engage students with the problem of social impact. The position is for one year but may be renewable pending the performance of the candidate and the needs of the university.

Expectations include a 4-4 teaching load. Course load will include GEN 106: Writing Workshop primarily, with the possibility of one or more courses in the candidate’s specialty. Providing service to the department and the university are also required, including collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing development and assessment of the first-year writing program.
Qualifications MA or PhD in Composition/Rhetoric, English, or a related field required. Candidates must have a strong teaching background. We welcome candidates with training and experience in at least one of the following areas: Universal Design Learning, Pedagogy, Assessment, Social Justice/DEIB, or First-Generation Student Experience.
Regular attendance at assigned job site and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position. All regular session courses are in-person.
