"Job Summary:
Key position in the development and deployment of gategroup's global gateOPEX standardization program / Standard Operating Model at a Competence Center (operating unit). As a resident Continuous Improvement expert, the role will drive the development and implementation of core process standards and functions as facilitator/trainer for remaining regional operating units"
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Local Deployment
o Responsible for the deployment of gateOPEX standards/Standard Operating Model in resident unit and support the deployment in regional unit network
o Works closely with unit leadership and shop floor staff in implementation and sustaining of process changes
o Liaise with stakeholders to address roadblocks and risks, securing continuity in rollout of the program at the resident location
o Works with functional leaders in the operating unit, such as procurement and HR, to acquire or improve systems, methodologies, and assets (equipment, facilities)
o Works closely with local finance responsible to track and report financial and operational impact.
o Continuously calibrates undertaken changes with global peers
• Training
o Acts as contact point and facilitator/trainer for the respective region's operating units to "come and learn" to enable replication of the gateOPEX standards/Standard Operating Model and best practices.
o Carry out trainings in different units
o Actively supports the creation and recording of training related to gateOPEX and making it available in the gateOPEX portal or the company's Learning Management System (LMS)
• Development
o Responsible for the development of process standards as part of the gateOPEX standardization program / Standard Operating Model
o Test new or overhauled standards together with the local team in the operation
o Initiates continuous improvement initiatives to (further) develop core process standards.
o Works with the global CI and Operations experts as well as gateOPEX resources to identify and refine best practices in operations.
o Supports and codifies developed standards
o Liaises with Operations Compliance experts to ensure and improve standards in the field of Environmental, health, Safety and QA/Food Safety.
o Ensures that best practices and standards are well balanced, encapsulating elements like Compliance (Safety, Quality etc.), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) HR, Finance, legal etc.
o Liaises with global peers to ensure global applicability of best practices and standards
o Support the development of automatization and technology/systems solutions
• Global team
o Takes an active role in codifying and administration of gateOPEX global knowledge management platform (intranet currently SharePoint and Learning Management System)
o Joins and at times facilitates global workshops for development of best practices, occurring in resident unit as well as global locations
o Is a key member of the global gateOPEX organization.
o At times, supports gateOPEX assessments within the region.
o Support global gateOPEX Leaders in development and structuring of multiyear plan
o Support operational urgencies and special projects regionally/globally
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in business, business economics, engineering or related field;
• 6 Sigma and/or lean manufacturing Black Belt certification required;
• Quality Management (system) or ISO lead auditing background a plus
Work Experience:
• At least 5 years experience in lean manufacturing/Continuous Improvement, with both hands on and analytics experience, and a collaborative approach
• Experience in the Food Industry, Logistics/Transportation or other Labor-intensive industry
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
• Microsoft office package experience
• Power BI experience is a plus
• CAD system experience is a plus
Language / Communication Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Required fluency in English and in the language of the location where Competence Center is. Other languages are a plus.
Job Dimensions
Geographic Responsibility: Operating Unit/North America, with possible support to other regions
Type of Employment: Full-time
Travel %: This position requires the ability to travel globally up to 35% of the time
Exemption Classification: (United States only - Exempt, Non-exempt)

External Relationships: Contractors, construction vendors, project management firms
Work Environment / Requirements of the Job: Normal standing, walking, reaching, lifting, kneeling, climbing of stairs and ladders, driving, and flying as a passenger on commercial airlines
