Lean Portfolio Manager

Position Overview:

Seeking to play a key role in supporting and facilitating the delivery of value that enables us to provide affordable, predictable and simple health care for our Clients. We are seeking a Lean Portfolio Manager (LPMgr) to support the US Medical Front Office Technology (USMFOT) in its maturity towards a streamlined agile operating model. As a LPMgr you will have an opportunity to demonstrate strong leadership skills as you facilitate/coach the three key Lean Portfolio Management collaborations of Strategy Investment & Funding; Lean Governance and Portfolio Operations for ***'s End to End Initiative.

Core competencies to be successful in this role include being an effective communicator, having a strong customer focus, being results oriented, with an ability to manage ambiguity, conflicts, budgets and the ability to influence change across the organization through coaching & modeling agile and delivery best practices.

Growth opportunities exist within the organization to learn cross-company (i.e. *** Health Plan, Client Health Services, Evernorth) technology stacks and solution patterns that will drive the IT delivery/build roadmap. Additional growth opportunities to learn from product strategy and business operations on how we quote, sell, and price benefit offerings in the market and service/payout claims to our customers, providers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and supports decentralized program execution and fosters operational excellence.
  • Coach and guide business stakeholders on the USMFOT operating model while assisting in business and technology alignment
  • Assist stakeholders and USMFOT with the creation of valuable product strategies and roadmaps
  • Partner with other LPM teams/resources in the organization to ensure cross-Portfolio initiatives are coordinated for the benefit of *** as a whole
  • Provide insights to Portfolio Operations that assists them in driving development, analysis and continuous improvement of USMFOT standard procedures and agile practices through the use of metrics
  • Enable delivery teams within US Medical Front Office Technology to further their agile maturity practices through utilizing insights provide by the Enterprise Agile Metrics
  • Provides coaching and training to Program Stakeholders and teams on agile practices
  • Ensure the maturity roadmap aligns with the organization’s business, efficiencies and effectiveness goals.
  • Support elimination of technical limitations by partnering with the USMFOT technology enablement in creation of a DevOps strategy.


Required Experience / Qualifications:
  • Preferred: Agile Delivery Management experience proven through, 5 to 8 years’ experience as a Lean Portfolio Manager and/or Agile Coach
  • 5- 8 years’ experience managing software delivery; strong IT application development & leadership background preferred
  • Experience with all aspects of delivery, including planning, facilitation of epic/features/user story decomposition, design and delivery execution
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Servant leader and communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience applying Lean Thinking and Systems Thinking in large organizations
  • Self-directed achiever who identifies opportunities to drive value and takes the lead
  • Excellent executive skills with a customer service oriented approach, and a focus on building relationships with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations in a professional manner
  • Change leader who will be proactive in influencing positive growth for the future
