Description:
Provides coordination between MercyOne and local high school/community college programs to design workforce development programs. Aligns MercyOne and Trinity Health in implementing workforce development strategies that create talent pools for the organization workforce needs. Collaborates with HR Business Partners and hiring managers for assigned divisions to address Talent Acquisition needs. Provides consultative services including workforce planning, establishing service level agreements, and regular reporting, while maintaining excellent relations with hiring managers and delivering top-notch programs through national and community partnerships. Ensures consistency for programs throughout the state. Serves as liaison with Iowa Workforce Development and Department of Education as it relates to workforce efforts.
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the MercyOne Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Participates in planning, defining, and validating MercyOne's Talent Acquisition philosophy, strategy, and approach, by being the primary coordinator for local high school apprentice and community college training programs.
  • Actively partners with schools, external agencies, and other parties to identify current and future organizational talent needs; contributes to the development of programs and processes to educate and equip potential talent for defined needs.
  • Develops relationships with professional organizations, colleges and schools, community agencies in order to identify and recruit a diverse slate of candidates for all positions.
  • Partners with TA and HR colleagues to identify, design, implement, and evaluate workforce development programs to align with business needs. Also partners with Specialists, HR colleagues, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders in the creation of business strategies focused on building sustainable and scalable workforce solutions.
  • Creates opportunities for strategic alliances, collaborations, and partnerships with educational and training providers, workforce agencies, community organizations, and other employers.
  • Serves as a coach, mentor, and resource for Talent Acquisition Partners. Provides advice and guidance as needed.
  • Assists in the review of apprenticeship standards, service delivery contracts, and training agreements.
  • Represents MercyOne at applicable local industry council, sector strategy, and community partner meetings.
  • Identifies opportunities for external and internal workforce development funding. Assists with preparation of grant applications, grant management, documentation, and tracking.
  • Plays a key role in planning and ensuring the successful execution of large-scale recruitment and special events.
  • Researches, analyzes, and compiles data related to workforce needs. Communicates research to Manager and CHROs.
  • Leads assigned projects related to workforce development, pursuing creative responses to novel situations.
  • Assists with convening and attend all collaborative meetings specific to workforce development initiatives.
  • Collaborates with MarComm experts to develop and execute a proactive, innovative, cost-effective recruitment/sourcing strategy to target a diverse pool of qualified applicants for vacant positions.
  • May support and participate in system wide sponsored special projects and initiatives, or portions of larger projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior level leadership as a credible, results-driven and valued business partner by engaging in proactive discussions and decision around mission attainment, business performance, financial operations and impacts, negotiations, strategy and development of key talent programs and processes to identify and address current and future business and people challenges.
  • Ability to serve as a steward of the culture by working to establish and maintain a caring, collaborative and high-performance culture and displaying a commitment to diversity. Ability to understand organizational relationships and structures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
