Summary
We promote the education of the young child with lots of fun and the cook can use their imagination to make the children want to eat.
Our school moved to a beautiful new building a few years ago in the residential community of Dr. Phillips where the school opened in 1987. We are licensed by DCF for 130 children, 6 weeks to 5 years of age, and that is open all year long. We work Monday through Friday and our hours of operations are 7 AM to 6 PM.
The Lead VPK teacher is responsible to get children ready for Kindergarten following the High Scope Curriculum Lesson Pans and practicing the Conscious Disipline method. The incumbent will be trained in all areas needed to succeed. The teacher executes the lesson plans, manage children's behavior, assess the students' skills, is assisted by an Assistant Teacher and coached by the director.
Duties
Instruct preschool 4 5 years old children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
Create a fun and safe learning environment
Follow schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
Practice Direct Supervision at all time
Assess children using the Brigance assessment tool and the VPK Standards Assessment
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
Maintain the health and safety of all students
Requirements
Previous experience (1-2 years minimum) in childcare, teaching VPK in a center setting
Passionate about working with children
Ability to build rapport with children
Positive and patient demeanor
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be VPK endorsed
Must have a CDA OR AA/AS in ECE or CD
Must speak English

DCF 45hrs training
Degree in ECE
More than 2 years experience.
The wages are determined based on number of years of experience, the level of education and the references
