Job description

About the Role
Looking for a rockstar full stack designer to lead our design team. You will be responsible for creating exceptional user experiences and intuitive interface designs for our operational platform. While your immediate focus will be on individual design contributions, we are looking for someone who has the potential to lead the design team as we grow our R&D organization. This is an impactful role as we move upmarket and become a multi-product company disrupting the $80B waste management industry. This is a great opportunity to be an early and impactful part of an extraordinary start-up that continues to offer its team members growth, equity, and prospect to build a legacy.
About UsOur cloud based platforms empower companies to disrupt an outdated $2 Trillion Dollar Industry. We have proven product market fit in one of the largest vertical SaaS markets. We are looking for founding team members who enjoy being a part of an early stage company and an early stage product team. Our foundational team is filled with experienced, self-starters who value the ability to learn and collaborate above all else. We care deeply about the hard working, dedicated, and humble people of the Waste Management industry and will stop at nothing to ensure that they get the most value technology can offer.
Requirements
What You Will Do
  • Act as a player coach for our design team; mentor junior team member(s) while contributing to the design process.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to understand user requirements, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Balance UX research with a robust design framework in order to create impactful designs that strike the appropriate balance between form and function.
  • Foster an iterative design process that includes rapid prototyping, attentive listening, adaptability, and integration of feedback.
  • Use, contribute to, and evolve design systems and component libraries.
  • Bring modern, agile, product discovery design processes to the team.

What You Will Need
  • 5-8+ years of experience with at least three years as in a lead product design role or design manager role, preferably in a startup environment.
  • You possess a versatile design skill set that encompasses all aspects of the design journey, including user research, systems thinking, wireframing, and visual design. While perfection isn't the goal, proficiency in these areas is important
  • Ability to maintain focus, and make decisions without perfect information.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity, desire to dive deep, and willingness to learn
  • Experience with maintaining and implementing design systems
  • Experience in designing & prototyping using Figma
  • Experience in a vertical SAAS company is a strong plus.
