Position Description
- Lead Trainer to schedule and deliver training classes in a Lunch n Learn format, or 1 to 2 hour virtual class format for Microsoft Excel 101, Word 101, Outlook 101 and Teams 101.
- A syllabus will be provided.
- The trainer should be energetic and enthusiastic, able to move through explaining/training the attendees in the applications in a virtual Teams or Zoom meeting platform, possible in person classes if the trainer is comfortable with that.
- Announcements for classes will be advertised on City Hall tv channel, tv screens in elevators, and the internal City Hall website, so reliability is paramount.
- With the right trainer, this could become a one year contract.
- The expectation is 4 classes (one each Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) per week at the same time/platform. Develop a way to allow attendees to select the classes to attend or to notify Lead Trainer of interest and receive a link to the Teams meeting for the class -Likely an email group will be created for this purpose.
- Training skills to professionally and energetically deliver engaging, moderately paced, Microsoft Excel 101, Word 101, Outlook 101 and Teams 101 to City Hall employees in a virtual Lunch n Learn format, virtual 1 to 2 hour class format, with potential for in-person classes.
- Class size can vary between 5 - 25 participants.
- Good organization and speaking skills, able to adjust for questions and requests for demonstration of specific aspects of the application, or to cover topics already covered.
- Patience and general soft skills preferred. Able to schedule classes and create a Teams link to the class and invite attendees.
- Able to cover material in the syllabus and pause occasionally for questions, and monitor Teams for attendees who have 'raised a hand' for a question.

- Microsoft Certified Professional certification preferred.
- 4+ years of experience with a local or nationally recognized skills or training vendor like New Horizons, Coursera, or similar, leading virtual Lunch and Learn or 1-2 hour classes on Teams or Zoom platforms covering beginner to intermediate instruction on Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams applications.
- Microsoft Certified Professional certification preferred.
