Lead Test Engineer

What You'll Get to Do:
You will lead an integrated test team to perform the following activities in support of the testing function:

  • Organizes and controls the testing process
  • Supports visibility and traceability of the testing process
  • Plans, prepares, manages and reports progress on the test activities and deliverables pertaining to Product Level Test (PLT) and Developer's Integration Test (DIT)
  • Assigns and manages the testing resources
  • Identifies appropriate test measurements, publishes test metrics, and reports on test status
  • Reviews detailed test plans
  • Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, and builds and maintains trusted relationships

More About the Role:
  • Participate in other program working groups and IPTs to ensure testing requirements are addressed as needed
  • Review test scenarios and test scripts
  • Monitor and manage requirements traceability to test cases, to ensure coverage for full system integration test
  • Ensure that functional and technical requirements are met through system testing, regression testing, performance testing, system interface testing, and security testing activities
  • Develop a framework for automated testing using HP Quality Center/HP ALM
  • Oversee functional administration, configuration, and utilization of testing tools
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Test Management Plan (TMP) that defines the approach, processes, and procedures that integrates with and supports the Government's Integrated Test and Evaluation (T&E) approach and Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP)
  • Reviews and evaluates complex test specifications, test results, test trends and implements corrective action as needed
  • Coordinate the resolution of problems inhibiting test progress
  • Review customer requirements and specifications to ensure that tests will confirm that these are satisfied
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using Microsoft Project, and track milestones and deliverables.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members, including contractors

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of experience applying Agile methodologies and tools on at least one IT related development program, to include defining and testing user story acceptance criteria
  • 5 or more years of experience with HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and HP Performance Center (or similar tool for Performance/Load testing)
  • 10 or more years of acquired knowledge in planning, directing, and managing interoperability testing (interfaces, data quality, etc.)
  • 10 or more years of acquired knowledge in planning, directing, and managing all major testing events (e.g., functional, regression, performance/load etc.)
  • 3 or more year of experience applying automation testing
  • 5 or more years of experience as Test Lead on at least one similar size or scope on an IT related program in Federal, DoD or IC agency
  • 10 or more years of experience as a Software Test Engineer
  • 7 or more years of experience developing and executing detailed test plans
  • 10 or more years of experience developing test scripts, scenarios, and use cases
  • 5 or more years of experience testing ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related Engineering or IT discipline

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Software Test Certification desired
  • At least one SAFe certification such as SAFe Agilist, SAFe Program Consultant or PMI715 ACP is desired
  • Proven success using modern DevSecOps methods and tools including automated testing tools and monitoring tools is desired
  • 5 or more years of experience as Test Lead on a PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 or Global Payroll implementation is desired
