Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Supervisor II in the Enterprise Applications Branch Test Unit 1 DL Team, the IT Specialist I performs duties similar to System Engineering and Software Engineering including but not limited to data administration, product management, software integration and quality assurance, automation testing development, technical writing and communications management. The incumbent must have a senior level of analytical and system analysis, decomposition and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to investigate complex issues and make informed decisions and have the ability to gather and assimilate information and provide alternatives and recommendations. Must also be familiar with Test Automation, Agile and other testing methodologies best practices and must possess excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills in support of multiple team leads and test managers. Incumbent will collaborate and often coordinate with test life cycle stakeholders such as Integration and User Acceptance. As a Lead Test and Automation Engineer, incumbent must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills required for frequent interaction with information technology management, staff, vendors, internal and external customers. Must have proven experience to a high level of flexibility and initiative in a fast-paced environment towards the completion of assignments is desired.

Working Conditions
Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency.
Occasional after hours and weekend work may be required. Telework eligible, however, incumbent may be expected to work from the office when assignments require.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Experience DMV's Driver's License and self-service channel applications preferred. Experience testing with Microfocus Octane or equivalent, TOSCA test automation capability, ability to lead and mentor teams in a matrix environment on multi complex projects and independently perform the complex studies, analyst and activities.
