Lead Teller - Full Time

Role: Assists and supports branch management with the daily responsibilities of the Teller line and branch including balancing the vault, the security of the cash and training/coaching of the Tellers. To insure members receive friendly, accurate, and timely assistance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:E40%Manages vault cash. Orders weekly cash requirement for the branch. Balances personal cash drawer and daily transactions. Posts data to general ledger system and maintains credit union records.E10%Schedules, trains, and monitors the work of other tellers. Coordinates teller and branch activities. Assists staff with promotions and educational opportunities.E40%Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. Promotes and cross-sells Credit Union Services and products to members.E5%Monitors branch activities for compliance with established policy and regulations. Takes action to resolve or reports any out-of-compliance issues.N5%Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:1.Assist in maintaining a cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff sufficient to meet daily branch needs.2.To accurately maintain vault and contents per credit union policy and regulatory guidelines. Post transactions and balance work, with errors and/or outages not to exceed established policy guidelines.3.To provide informed, professional personal service to all members. To successfully recommend a new product or service to all members you work with. To meet or exceed monthly product and service referral goals.4.Ensure that the branch staff is providing friendly, professional and personal service to all members. To promote a sales and service culture within the branch by example. Mentor and develop employees to identify cross sales opportunities.

Knowledge and Skills:ExperienceOne year to three years of similar or related experience.EducationA high school education or GED.Interpersonal SkillsWork involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.Other SkillsMust have good communication skills for training other tellers. 10-key calculator and computer keyboard skills. Accurate with numbers and names.Physical RequirementsTalking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed, important or confidential instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, quietly or quickly.
Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: Standing – 8 hours per day. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally.Work Environment
