Babes on the Square Too was designed for children who will be spending much of their parent’s work week with us. We understand that it isn’t always easy for small children to be away from their homes and the comforts that Mom and Dad provide. Our staff is dedicated to the concept that each child be made to feel they are an important and vital part of our center.
We recognize these are a child’s formative years. We recognize children will be learning from our staff and from one another just as if they were home. We strongly believe good manners, common courtesy, and consideration for others will serve a child well throughout the course of his/her life. We strive to practice those virtues at all times within our center. We try to encourage compassion by being compassionate ourselves.
Responsibilities:
- Implement/support immplementation of age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for Infants/Toddlers
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and structured activities
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other Teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must meet current Department of Education minimum qualifications for Teacher, Assistant Teacher or Intern
- Previous experience working in a childcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
- Ability to implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate math, language, science, and art, music and movement, and social/emotional activities
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to handle challenging situations with empathy
