The Sammamish Montessori School offers a carefully planned environment that provides a wide variety of learning experiences for Toddler, preschool and kindergarten, and Lower Elementary children (18 months to 9 years). During these formative years, children learn faster than at any other time of their lives. The Montessori method of education is designed specifically to work with the natural sensitive periods each child moves through in his/her development. This proven method of education has been helping students attain strong academic, social and emotional skills for more than 100 years.
With over 250 students and 50 staff, the school has been operating since 1977 (45+ years) and is conveniently located close to Microsoft and Amazon Redmond Offices (7655 178th Pl NE, Redmond WA 98052). The school offers comfortable drive-through access for pickup/drop-off, STEAM and Enrichment programs such as Art, Spanish, Piano, Field trips and much more.
We are seeking experienced, Montessori credentialed, Infant/Toddler (or) Early Childhood (or) Lower Elementary Lead Montessori teacher to join our school. Montessori Accreditation (AMS) required - no exceptions.
Applicant must be confident, friendly and organized and who is able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, loves children and is able to multitask. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Duties and responsibilities include curriculum and lesson planning, record keeping and developing and maintaining relationships with student families.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for Infant/Toddler children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and structured activities
- Monitor and assess children's progress and communicate with parents or guardians
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom
Experience:
- Infant/Toddler Montessori Accreditation is required (or) should be willing to start formal accreditation training within 12 months
- Previous experience working with Infant/Toddler is preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children
