The Supply Technician, Lead
directs activities of the Frieght services and Supply Support Activity (SSA) operations, which includes the Issue Counter, Turn-in Counter & Free Turn-in, shipping area, the Standard Army Information Management System (STAMIS) being used for class II, III-P & IX processing, Material Management, Authorized Stockage List (ASL) asset location, storage & management, workload data collection and maintenance of assigned facilities and equipment. overview of the position.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct warehouse material storage activities of all classes of supply received from Army Material Command (AMC), Defense Logistic Agency (DLA), and General Services Administration (GSA).
  • Direct the issue of supplies to active Army and other customers within the area defined by AR 5-9.
  • Monitor excess property returns to the National Inventory Control Points, DLA Disposition Services, and to other Installations.
  • Monitor the input of data to STAMIS processing terminals and other stand-alone systems.
  • Ensure that all employees adhere to all state, federal, and environmental safety regulations and follow prescribed local environmental and safety polices.
  • Perform customer support functions
  • -those processes used to support the total requirement of customers to gain logistics support in both combat and peacetime situations.
  • Direct the tracking of property and supply movement, assist with bills of lading, supply management, storage, packing and shipping, and document control within the freight department.
  • Supervise other employees engaged in the requisition, receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and warehousing operations, as well as packing, crating, and shipping materials and equipment.
  • Support automated and non-automated customer units.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the management of military logistics systems or related supply systems experience.
  • Must possess and continuously maintain a current valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to have or taken civilian or military formal training in logistics, preferably a Senior Logistics Course through the Army Learning Management System (ALMS), or other equivalent civilian course.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of warehouse and storage operations and the Supply Support Activity STAMIS system, either the Standard Army Retail Supply System (SARSS) or Global Combat Support System (GCSS).
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for computer access
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
