Role
As a key member of the Lit Thinking team, you will be central to the management, development, and ongoing enhancement of our advanced IoT software platform. This platform encompasses desktop and mobile apps, forming a user-focused wall-to-wall solution by enabling all Lit Thinking devices and fixtures. This role demands a blend of hands-on development, project delivery, contractor and partner management. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in IoT architecture, app development, procurement, algorithm development, and best practice HMI. This position will report to the Director of Product Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
· Conceptualize, create, evaluate, and maintain the Lit Thinking software platform, with an emphasis on our IoT-integrated Far-UVC sanitization solutions.
· Lead the integration and enhancement of our current technology across all digital platforms, including desktop and mobile apps.
· Offer guidance on software architecture and prioritize software performance, scalability, and maintainability.
· Engineer, validate, and maintain firmware for embedded systems, ensuring its seamless integration with associated hardware and software.
· Innovate, improve, and drive adoption of new and existing features.
· Implement cloud-based solutions for data storage, processing, and analytics.
· Spearhead the development of responsive, user-focused web interfaces for our IoT systems, ensuring seamless communication between devices, cloud services, and web interfaces.
· Collaborate closely with the product manager and other multi-disciplinary engineers, aiming always to exceed project requirements.
· Adopt and promote an Agile/Scrum environment for optimal workflow.
· Stay updated with the industry's latest trends and best practices, and proactively suggest improvements to our products and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
· BS/BEng degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
· Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a distinct focus on IoT systems.
· Knowledge surrounding IoT connectivity, data acquisition, and full stack development.
· Familiarity with major cloud platforms, especially AWS and Microsoft Azure.
· Competence in web development tools and languages, including but not limited to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
· 3+ years in software project delivery, preferably in mobile App and SaaS environments using Agile development methodologies.
· Proven experience in developing IoT solutions and familiarity with data privacy standards and encryption best practices.
· Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in person, and a demonstrated ability to translate client needs into technical requirements, consider alternatives, and recommend appropriate solutions.
