SalaryDR Security is responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior at their contracted facilities throughout the metro area and surrounding communities. A security officer must be well-trained in dealing with those in mental crisis. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation. The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problem-free.
The following role is being advertised internally and externally. The position does require full time status. Multiple positions are available for different shift assignments.
Lead Security Guard Job Description:
The Lead Guard is integral to the team as they will be directly involved with the Security Guards, offering support on reported issues, answering questions, developing the team, and building processes that will maintain DR Security standards.
This role oversees the everyday operations of Security Guards within their assigned facilities. While the role will require 35-40 hours as a primary Security Guard, this position will also require 2-5 hours of administrative duties each pay period. These duties and many of those listed below may be managed while on shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Manager to add and adjust schedules as spontaneous needs appear, ensuring the appropriate level of coverage at each facility.
Act as first line of contact for guards for callouts or shift changes after schedule is released by Manager.
Field calls from Security Guards, offering guidance on proper procedure and proactively watching for trends that require solutions.
Work collaboratively with the Manager to update and maintain a list of current guards’ schedule availability and location preferences (never promising shift or locations unless instructed by the manager or DOO).
Collaborate with the Manager and Director of Operations to draft and maintain Security Policies and Procedures for each facility.
Offer ideas on improving safety, work morale, and the performance of staff to better the business both for specific locations and the company.
Act as an emergency replacement in case of an absence of a guard for temporary periods.
Meet with the Manager and DOO monthly to communicate areas of concern, learn about upcoming increases in work, or changes in company need.
Other duties as assigned by the owner, Manager, or DOO.
Requirements
Experience in security managerial duties, scheduling and conflict resolution preferred
Operates with flexibility and adaptability to any environment, making immediate decisions and resolving conflict.
Operate in highly stressful situations from both internal and external sources.
Ability to multi-task, interpreting on-going problems and suggesting possible solutions.
