Secretary - Class C - Lead
Full Time 260 days/8 hrs/day
Lead Secretary for Adventures Plus Program
Provide support for Adventures Plus Program Supervisor and Program Coordinators.  

Adventures Plus is the Anoka-Hennepin School District's fee-based school-age care program, offered to all families enrolled in the school district and provided at each elementary school. Care is available before- and after-school, and on non-school days which include winter, spring and summer breaks.

Adventures Plus is dedicated to quality development and engagement of children and youth in partnership with families, schools, and communities.


Duties include: Support Program Supervisor and Program Coordinators with staffing and enrollment. Assist with staff recruitment and hiring by creating job postings, attending job fairs, scheduling interviews, maintaining hire log, completing dataforms for new hires, and Dept. of Human Services background studies and fingerprinting. Answer staffing phone hotline and email. Assist with staff training, onboarding, and communication through maintenance of staff handbook and orientation materials. Create staff email lists, newsletters, and professional development record keeping. Help to ensure the program is appropriately staffed by creating and updating staffing patterns, creation and distribution of staff interest forms, track sub data, and maintain employee files. Implement staff retention, appreciation, and recognition strategies. Compile payroll and overtime reports. Manage enrollment through the Eleyo system and serve as a back-up for Adventures Plus main office phone and email. Compile, analyze, and evaluate enrollment and staffing data for budget creation and tracking. Pulling applications and preparing them for review by Program Coordinator. Maintain the Adventures Plus website. Perform general clerical duties and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to deal routinely with confidential information - maintaining the highest level of confidentiality when handling employee information. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a professional and timely manner. Strong oral and written communication skills. Treat all with dignity and respect. Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel, Google, and Google Docs. Ability to work under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods. Ability to work cooperatively with department, district staff and public; ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be physically working in the building.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong customer service skills, ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations preferred. Ability to manage many tasks with frequent interruptions preferred. Experience or degree in Human Resources (recruitment) or Marketing preferred. Experience utilizing Indeed. Experience creating Excel spreadsheets, maintaining websites, processing payroll preferred. Experience with Eleyo and Skyward software preferred. Experience working with Mn Department of human Services preferred. Experience and knowledge of child care program preferred.
Rate of pay: $20.75/hour.
Insurance benefits available for assigned positions of 6 hours or more per day and 193 days per year or more.
Start Date: ASAP after closing.
